I wanted to start this blog to use it as a means of sharing my current knowledge of eco-building and to have YOU sharing your knowledge and experiences, ideas and questions with me. I believe a house should reflect the people living within its walls. We are all different and should not be expected to all live in the same way. I believe strongly in individuality!
Having spent my twenties traveling around the world (USA, Africa, Asia, Australia and Europe) working as a carpenter and project manager, I learned new ideas and new concepts and believe that we must change the way we are living so as to live in harmony with the environment. This can only be done by being open to new ways of thinking and doing.
My ultimate goal as a builder is to create houses that are made of only local material which are renewable and sustainable i.e. timber, straw, sheep’s wool, hemp, reeds etc. The market needs demand in order for it to be a supply therefore we need to start to demand more natural products. This won’t be a short road but a journey definitely worth taking. I am hungry for your thoughts and ideas so please share them with me!
